ADISCOLOR was founded in 1981 with the goal to develop the supply of modern products of Additives and Dyes to the national industry manufacturing Plastic Products, hence contributing to its development and prestige, denominatively in a specialty that is traditional and secular - the manufacturing of Ropes, Cables and Nets made from synthetic materials for various applications and, especially, to use in sectors of the shipbuilding industry. Portugal, a traditional producer of sisal ropes and cables since the 15th century, has not lost the leadership characteristics in this domain, only adapting to the inevitable and gradual substitution of sisal to synthetics. And we, ADISCOLOR, can be proud of having decisively and effectively contributed to this with the supply of new products, of great quality, requiring very technical and logistical support.

For several years the founder of ADISCOLOR, Rogrio Ferreira da Silva, had begun business relations with the prestigious A.SCHULMAN PLASTICS Group, original from the United States of America, but since then with a large development in Europe with production units in Belgium, Germany, England, France, Italy and others. Since its formation, ADISCOLOR worked in practice as an affiliate of the A.SCHULMAN PLASTICS Group, representing it exclusively in Portugal, maintaining the stocks of Schulman products for immediate delivery, and therefore responding promptly to the requests of its clients.

Today, after almost 30 years since its formation, ADISCOLOR is endowed with several young leaders alongside more experienced ones, thus ensuring the necessary puissance in the several action domains. Always with SCHULMAN PLASTICS as its nuclear activity partner, but not neglecting the new technological requirements that are imposed to the Efficiency and Quality of Service of those responsible and want to remain a privileged partner in the Portuguese Industry of Plastic Materials, with positions of great significance in various world markets.

However in 1989, and as a result of its recognized prestige in the Plastic's world, a proposal was made to ADISCOLOR and so a new company was created - Baerlocher Qumica Portuguesa, Lda. - designed to operate alongside with one of the most important Groups in the Additives and Compounds world producers for the PVC Industry - Baerlocher GmbH - with headquarters in Munich and with factories in all of the continents.
